plays guitar with a personally developed and unique finger picking style. It is
common to see a harmonica resting on his chest while performing, which adds depth
to his songs.

bluegrass, rock, folk, Irish punk, old-timey and been in vocal ensembles. Kevin
has performed all along the East coast including New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine,

T-Bone, America's Health & Fitness Ambassador, to Run the Kids Hill Climb!
In the guise of T-Bone, a brightly colored costumed running enthusiast and educator
Tim "T-Bone" Arem, M.Ed., shares the benefits of children's health and physical
fitness. To learn more about T-Bone, please visit his website:
www.tbonerun.com
"Running excites, inspires and enriches children as it teaches them important
life lessons like discipline, coordination, teamwork and self-esteem," says
Tim. "The best part of being T-Bone is seeing the children's smiles as they
cross the finish line. I feel very fortunate to be playing a role in many families
lives through fitness. That is the kind of contribution that makes my job so fulfilling!"
On race morning, T-Bone will:
- Warm up the kids before their race as my fitness character T-Bone.
- Perform a health & fitness stage show for the families 15 -30 minutes in length.
- Run with the children as a role model
Parking
Parking will be available in the upper and back lots of Isaac Dickson Elementary
School at 125 Hill Street. This will most likely fill up quickly. Your best for
parking is the Asheville Chamber of Commerce lot which is located just off of Montford
Avenue at Hill Street. Please don't park in their 30 minute guest parking located
in their top lot. Additionally, there will be street parking and a church parking
lot across the highway(240) directly across from the school off of Haywood Avenue.
Use the foot-bridge to cross 240 for easy access to the school!
Packet Pickup - Friday Night Lights
This year's friday night packet pickup will hopefully be made less confusing with
the aid of Christmas lights. That's right, follow the string of christmas lights
down to the gym to pickup your number and race bag.
Race Awards and Commemorative Mugs
Local potter, Brian Hill, of Warren Wilson College has been commissioned to create
signature hot chocolate mugs for the top race awards. In addition, we have decided,
this year, to offer 2009 Hot Chocolate 10K commemorative mugs and Brian has agreed
to create these for us. He will be available to at packet pickup and on race morning
to take orders. While the specific details, such as pricing, shipping and whether
you can have your race time inscribed on the bottom, haven't been worked out yet,
we are very excited to be able to offer this benefit.
Still looking for Christmas gifts???
Why not finish your shopping and support our sponsors at the same time? A gift certificate
from Tod's? A book from Malaprop's? Jewelry from Baker Place Originals? Music lessons
from Asheville Music School? A house cleaning from Pristine Clean? Running shoes
and clothes from Jus' Running? Do you have a budding gymnast in the family? Try
High Flight Gymnastics! And there is always cookies from Sugar Mommas. Please don't
forget to tell them WHY you're supporting them! Please check out the bottom of our
website for links to each of our sponsor's pages.
Course Change!!!
We have listened to you folks and adjusted the course to begin at the upper parking
lot of Isaac Dickson school. This means you will spend more time on Hill St. going
out and less time on it coming back. The final uphill to the finish line will be
shorter, as a result, ending a short distance after passing the highway offramp
and turning into the IDES lower parking lot driveway. I hope you all don't mind.
Sugar Mommas Cookies for 10K Age Group Awards
We are pleased to announce that your 10K Age Group awards are going to be edible!
That's right, Sugar Mommas Cookies will be providing their deliciously rich cookies
to serve as your race awards. So train hard and reward yourself!
Late, Late Registration Surcharge of $2
What is Late, Late registration? Simply put: registering for the 10K during packet
pick-up and race morning. We want to encourage every one to pre-register for the
race. More than anything, this helps us plan for the event and to ensure that it
is fun and rewarding for all. In order to help facilitate this and to ease the stress
of packet pick-up, we are adding a $2 surcharge to entries during packet pick-up
and on race morning. So, save $2, help us out and pre-register now!
Free running socks by PowerSox!
PowerSox is donating enough of their high quality running socks for us to be able
to put a pair of socks into each of this year's race bags! That's 500 pairs! So,
register early to make sure you get a race bag and a pair of these great running
socks! Bags will be handed out in order of registration. When they're gone, they're
gone.

The Isaac Dickson Hot Chocolate 10K & Kids Hill Climb is the first race in the

on the right foot!
